Local knowledge
Asbestos was widely used in UK buildings until it was banned in 1999. Across Anglesey, Gwynedd and Conwy, it's still common in older homes, farm buildings and garages. Left alone and in good condition it's usually low risk. The danger comes when it's drilled, sanded, broken or knocked out during renovation.
